The guy at the front of the room
Back 2 Basics CPL · Marlo Odus · Dimondale, Michigan

Some CPL instructors read the state curriculum off a screen. Marlo Odus lives it. He's an engineer and EMT with the Lansing Fire Department — a career spent making good decisions under bad conditions — and a USPSA A-class competitor, a classification most match shooters chase for years. When he talks about what happens to your hands under stress, it isn't theory.
Back 2 Basics started as a hobby that wouldn't stay one. With his wife's backing and support from the crew at Not Just Guns on Cedar Street, the matches turned into a company, the company into a classroom in downtown Dimondale, and the classroom into a steady line of new shooters leaving with certificates. His own post said it best: such a blessing.
The name is the method. No tactical cosplay, no fear-selling — grip, stance, trigger, the law, and the judgment to go with it. Ten minutes of dry fire a day beats an hour of cramming; a match will show you your deficiencies; go train. That's the voice in the room, and it's the same on the range as it is on his feed.
